The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) and the England-based sportswear manufacturer Umbro have signed a 4-million kit sponsorship deal, it was announced yesterday via Instagram. The new agreement, which begins next year and will run for four years, will see the brand outfitting Jamaica's men's and women's teams. The kits, according to word out of the JFF, will be worn for the first time as the senior Reggae Boyz begin their build-up to their qualification campaign for the 2022 World Cup.
Umbro currently provides kit for the Peruvian and Serbian national soccer sides and is also the official kit manufacturer for English Premier League clubs AFC Bournemouth, Everton FC and West Ham United. The Jamaica national men’s soccer team qualified once for the Fifa World Cup in 1998 and finished second in the 2015 and 2017 editions of the Concacaf Gold Cup. The women’s side were runners-up at the 2014 Women’s Caribbean Cup.
